Dining at Casino de Montréal

Casino de Montréal, run by Loto-Québec on Île Notre-Dame across from the Old Port, works as a dinner address as much as a gaming floor. Three restaurants publish their hours, from a lunch buffet to a deli counter that serves until 3:30 a.m.

The tables

Three tables, two pavilions

Casino de Montréal opened on October 9, 1993, in the former French pavilion of Expo 67. It later took over the former Québec pavilion, and its restaurants now sit in both buildings.

Le Montréal is the grill and seafood restaurant, on Level A of the Pavillon du Québec. Two very different rooms share Level 5 of the Pavillon de la France. Pavillon 67 is a buffet that serves lunch every day and dinner from Thursday to Sunday. L'Instant, the deli and pasta counter, stays open until 3:30 a.m. and runs without a break from Friday to Monday.

All three are inside the casino, and all three are 18+, like the bars and the Cabaret du Casino. The guide describes no dish the venue does not name, and gives no stars.

The evening

Around the meal

The gaming floor keeps its own hours, from 9 a.m. to 5 a.m. the next day, Monday to Thursday. From Friday at 9 a.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., it stays open 24 hours, statutory holidays included. Those hours say nothing about the kitchens, which keep the times listed above.

Shows run at the Cabaret du Casino, which is 18+ like the restaurants and bars. Casino de Montréal admits people 18 or older only. Original photo ID is required, and photocopies or photos of ID on a phone are not accepted. Anyone who looks 25 or younger may be asked for government-issued photo ID. Smoking and vaping cannabis are prohibited inside and outside.
